Trúðavaktin, Iceland's hospital clowns, are the first of their kind in Iceland. The group is made up of nine professionally trained actors who have received special training as hospital clowns. Trúðavaktin has offered a free service for the Hringur Children's Hospital since its founding on 1 March 2018. The clowns visit all children aged 0-18 at the hospital every Wednesday, all year round, two clowns at a time. The role of Trúðavaktin is to create brief moments of joy in sometimes difficult circumstances.
